At Camp Beckwith, our mission is to provide a summer camp experience where children and youth can find a safe space to grow closer to God, make new friends, challenge themselves, and strengthen their self-confidence.

This mission is accomplished by offering various outdoor activities, providing intentional moments of Christian formation and worship, and operating within a small group philosophy.

We wish to create an environment where every camper will experience God's grace and will be treated as a beloved child of God. Campers will be free (and encouraged) to try new things and find success--or even failure--without the feeling of defeat.

Beckwith is owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast.

SO MANY ACTIVITIES!

Waterfront
Located on Weeks Bay, Camp Beckwith offers a whole host of waterfront activities, including kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and sailing! But we could spend hours just jumping off the pier!

Sailing

We have a whole fleet of Sunfish ready to be sailed into the bay. Your camper will leave camp with basic sailing skills, along with memories that will last a lifetime!

Canoes/Kayaks/Paddle Boards
There is no shortage of activities that our campers get to experience on the waterfront. We have one and two-person kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and plenty of canoes!

High Ropes Course
Part of our mission as a summer camp is to get your camper out of their comfort zone in a safe and loving space. Our high ropes course is a fun and thrilling experience for our campers! Our ropes course counselors are specially trained to lead your camper through our multiple high ropes elements.

Zipline & Rock Wall
By far our most popular activity, our Zipline takes campers up into the treetops, and then glides them down through the woods on a quick, thrilling ride!

Our rock wall is a race to the Pelican! Campers are harnessed in and can race friends to get to the bell hanging from the pelican.

Low Ropes Course
Campers will learn team building, communication, and strategy as they are guided through our low ropes course by specially-trained staff!

Arts & Crafts
Here at camp we are all about creativity and expressing it! In our Arts & Crafts Hut, campers will be able to paint, draw, sketch, and create whatever might come to their imagination.

Field Games
Outdoor games are central to our a Camp Beckwith summer camp experience. Our enormous games field allows us to play all kinds of games--from soccer, to Camp Olympics, to kickball, and so much more!

Spiritual Formation
Each week, we have a priest from our Diocese lead our Dean's Program each day--a time for spiritual conversation and activities that get us thinking about our faith.

We also have Praise & Worship several times a day. These are the best times to sing loud, dance goofy, and spend time with our best camp friends!

Beckwith Camp and Retreat’s summer camp program allows for children of varying abilities to actively participate in camp activities. Campers will need to possess the ability to stand and walk in order to get the full camp experience. Unfortunately, Beckwith does not have the resources or technology to offer wheelchair assistance at our waterfront, ropes course, or games field.

Our staff are trained in basic CPR and First Aid. Our Camp Nurse provides medication administration and care for minor injuries/accidents.

Beckwith summer staff are not specially trained to assist campers with extreme physical or mental needs.
